“Technology is a tool that helps ALL children be included and independent as they redefine how they share their ideas and become creators. In the world of disability and inclusion, it is the great integrator.” ~ Tamara Kaldor
Tamara Kaldor, M.S., is a child development expert with over a decade of experience teaching and consulting with parents, educators, and leading international organizations to integrate technology to support the social-emotional and learning needs of ALL children. She has seen how technology helps kids of all abilities share their voice and what they know in order to advance in their development. Her goal is to help educators and therapists thoughtfully integrate technology into their classrooms and children’s programs so that all children are active participants and learners. She does this by finding creative ways to include technology meaningfully to help children play, relate and learn. This has made Tamara a sought-after speaker in the area of tech integration. She has been invited to deliver workshops on digital citizenship, integrating technology into the classroom and lesson plans, and navigating the digital world responsibly throughout Chicago, the U.S. and internationally. Tamara has collaborated with such organizations as UNICEF, UNESCO, International Society for Technology and Education (ISTE), NAEYC, the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning (ICDL), Illinois Computer Educators (ICE), and Common Sense Media. Tamara is a contributing author to Technology and Digital Media in the Early Years: Tools for Teaching and Learning, Edited by Dr. Chip Donohue (Routledge and NAEYC). Tamara is the consulting Program Coordinator for Erikson Institute’s highly regarded Technology in Early Education Center (TEC), which empowers early childhood educators to make informed decisions about the appropriate use of technology with children from birth to age 8. TEC Center is the innovative continuing education entity within the Erikson Institute, the nation’s premier graduate school for early childhood development. Tamara began working with the center in 2011 as an Instructor of Professional Development and Continuing Education as well as a Speaker at TEC and Erikson Institute’s Early Childhood and Technology Conference. Tamara holds an M.S. in Child Development from Erikson Institute and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. erikson Technology in Early Childhood Center |
