I taught for 32 years in the New York City school system. Even though I was a licensed Social Studies teacher I taught most subjects (Language Arts, Science, Math, Computers...)for grades 6-9. I wrote curriculum for my school district, the NYC Board of Education and Open Doors a school-business partnership. I was also a lead teacher and cooperating teacher. Cybrary Man's Educational Web Sites started April 11, 1999 as my school's library website when I served as my school's teacher-librarian. I was elected and served two terms on my town's library board of trustees. I now live in Florida. At the same time I was teaching I wrote educational materials for the utility industry. I enjoy presenting how I wrote one of my educational activity booklets in person and skypinginto classroom all over the world. After retiring I moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and helped write the Mashpee Town Charter, get funding for a new library and revise the local school district's curriculum. On Twitter I was a member of the #edchat team for five years and the originator of #engsschat. I was the keynote speaker for Tomorrow's Classrooms Today in Philadelphia 2015 At #ISTE2014 I gave two workshops: Twitter 101 and Mystery Location Calls, was on a panel of educators for the Educators Teacher Lounge, moderated a live #satchat for school leaders (I chose the topic and questions for How to Start a Tech Revolution in your School or School District) At #ISTE2015 I gave a Twitter 101 workshop and presentations on professional development and connecting on a global level. Our book (by @wkrakower @plnaugle @cybraryman1) features Mystery Location Calls: Connecting Your Students with the World: Tools and Projects to Make Global Collaboration Come Alive, K-8 I am a member of the Council of Peers of the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences and a commentator on BAM!
