I currently serve as Assistant Vice President of Academics & Associate Professor of Education at Concordia University Wisconsin. I am also a frequent consultant/advisor and keynote speaker on topics related to educational innovation and entrepreneurship, the intersection of education policy and innovation, mission-minded educational innovation, multiple learning pathways, educational program/product/service design and development, learning beyond letter grades, self-directed and self-blended learning, alternative and micro-credentials, and blended and online learning. I especially enjoy helping people, startups, think tanks, established companies, and various non-profit organizations explore the challenges and opportunities of current and emerging innovations in education.
My work largely focuses upon the intersection of digital culture, innovation, and education. Interests include futures in education; micro-credentials & educational access; the intersection of education policy and innovation; the affordances and limitations of emerging educational trends; educational entrepreneurship; social entrepreneurship in the education sector; self-directed learning; blended & online learning; leadership in higher education; the unbundling of P-20 education; as well as the history and implications of assessment, contemporary grading practices, and education credentials. My formal education includes a B.A. in history & education, M.A. in curriculum and instruction, M.A. in humanities, and an Ed.D. in instructional technology. |
