Happy geek, musician, and blogger at the EdTech Guro Runner, Noel is a multipotentialite optimist, coffee lover, and a game researcher.
His passion for teaching started in an undergraduate internationally-recognized organization (ACM UP Student Chapter) and bloomed a bit more while enrolled in the UP College of Education. Currently, he is on the last leg of his Master of Arts in Educational Technology, trailblazing a research on webinars for professional development. He works as a Supervising Course Development Officer and Trainer at UP ITDC, a faculty member of the UP College of Education - EdTech Area, a team lead for program and speaker relations in the Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4iT) and TEDxUP, and a consultant in UPSITF for projects involving elearning. He is an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE), Apple Education Trainer (Apple Professional Development Consultant), a Google for Education Certified Innovator (GCT), a Google Educator Group (GEG) Diliman Leader, a NetBeans Platform Certified Associate, a Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) advocate, and is also adept in various technologies such as C, Java, MySQL, PHP, HTML5, Wordpress, Moodle, SCORM, OS X, and iOS. He runs everyday with the Run365PH group - a 6am crew of runners who aims for a healthy lifestyle. He spends most of his free time reading about new trends in educational technology, participating in #edchat Twitter discussions, attending international webinars, doing missions on strategy games, and playing the guitar. He can be found telecommuting - brewing new ideas for software development, gamification of education, and the quantified self, while catching up on his favorite TV series. |
